Mrs Lawal Has Changed The Narrative In The Ponmo Industry - Opinion Poll

Critical stakeholders in the Ponmo industry have continued to applaud exemplary leadership style of Chief Mrs. Lawal Lawrence, the Iya Egbe Oni Ponmo of Nigeria.
In separate interviews with the youth leader of the association, Alhaja Fatimot, and the Baba Egbe Alawo Alhaji Ibrahim, they were of the opinion that Iya Egbe Lawal is a patriotic businesswoman with passion for human development. Excerpts. Alhaja Fatimot, the youth leader, Egbe Oni Buka.
Q: From your own point of view do you think Mrs. Lawal has added value to the association?

A: Chief (Mrs.) Abeni Lawal is one of the pioneer members of the Ponmo industry in Ijebu Igbo, having over fifty years' experience in the industry and she has put a lot of hard work to ensure that we have an association that was able to stand the test of time.
Yes, there are challenges and we have being able to look inward and address those irregularities, Iya Egbe Lawal took keen interest in the welfare of all members and ensures that our interests are protected at all times and what is left for members of the association to do is to extend maximum cooperation to her so that the association will be able to forge ahead.

She also appealed to the State Government to help the association in the area of waste disposal; this will enhance proper hygiene in the Ponmo industry.
Alhaji Ibrahim, the Baba Egbe Alawo Oni Ponmo.
Q: Mrs. Abeni Lawal has been appointed as the Iya Egbe Oni Ponmo of Nigeria. How do you feel with this development?
A: Chief (Mrs.) Abeni Lawal, popularly referred to as Iya Owo, is a straightforward personality whom Allah has used to champion transformational growth in the association.
She has over fifty years of experience in the business; she is very brave, knowledgeable and hardworking.
Allah has used her to retool our association and she is very progressive in nature.

There is no doubt about the fact that the Ponmo is a multi-billion-naira industry which has continued to create jobs for the people and also increase their income. We have graduates who are members of the association and we will continue to speak with one voice.
In my opinion the need for the federal and state government to give necessary support to our association is crucial because our association has the capacity to reduce poverty in the country and also reduce crime rate. Government needs to help in the area of waste disposal and also give interest free loans to our members. He urged members of the association to remain focused and be contented with the little Allah offers them and should not speed beyond the limit.
